Spike's Surprise

In August 1945, The Worcester Telegram and Gazette pilled the beans about the Ghost Army, thanks to a talkative corporal named Sebastian Messina. That led to a spate of articles -- including one in The New York Times before the Pentagon managed to get it hushed up for the next forty years. Recently, Erin Rush, the grand-niece of Ghost Army veteran Spike Berry, sent me Spike's original copy of the article for the Ghost Army archives. Back in 2006, Spike told the story of how he came into possession of it. Take a listen!
