This painting illustrates a story tells about the time that two Frenchmen on bicyles blundered into the Ghost Army encampment. As Shilstone tried to shoo them away, they spotted four men holding what looked like a 40 ton Sherman tank. They looked at Shilstone in bewilderment. "The Americans are very strong" he told them!
