Special Ghost Army Screening September 18
jul312011
Here's your chance to see The Ghost Army rough cut at a wonderfully rich event truly worth attending.
The Historical Society of Rockland County, NY (HSRC) is hosting the special screening of the in-progress film on Sunday, September 18th, at 3 PM, as part of “A Gala Celebration of the Greatest Generation.” The show is at the Lafeyette Theater in Suffern, New York (about 30 miles north of NYC.)
The event will also include music from the Stan Rubin Swing Era Big Band, led by Herb Gardner, as well as The Rockland Men’s Chorus.
Tickets can be purchased online here. Or you can buy them by phone, 866-811-4111.
This is a joint fundraiser for the HSRC and The Ghost Army documentary. Advance tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for students and seniors. There are also a limited number of premium tickets that include prime seating, and an invitation to a post-screening reception. Those are $100 apiece. Admission is free to WWII veterans, who should call The Historical Society office at 845-634-9629 to make arrangements.
Even the venue is historic the fully restored 900 seat Lafeyette Theater, originally built in 1923, and recently named by USA Today as one of “10 Great Places to Revel in Cinematic Grandeur." It features a rare Wurlitzer pipe organ on which organist Jeff Barker will play patriotic tunes as part of the festivities.
This is going to be a very exciting event, and I hope you will join me there. Once again, the program is on Sunday, September 18th, at 3 PM, and the link for buying tickets is below.
